Hello Redditors! I hope this will help you to understand my directions because I know some of us crocheters are visual learners.  Please bear with me, I've never had to write out a pattern that others will read before.  I hope it works!

The pattern for the half-motifs work like the full hexagons for this pattern, but instead of working in the round, its worked in rows. Also, keep in mind, I do not attach my hexagons together like the pattern calls for. You'd also think that because the full pattern calls for 12 dc in the first round, the half would call for 6 dc, but I learned the hard way that's not true!

Row 1:  in a magic circle, ch 3 (this counts as your first dc), 7 dc in circle [8 dc].  Do NOT pull the circle closed; instead, pull the tail tighter, but leave the shape semi-circular. Turn.

Left: how row one should look (i.e. "semi-circle)
Right: how row one would look if pulled tight

Row 2: ch 2, dc in same dc, ch 1, (this counts as your first Bobble*, ch 1), {Bobble, ch 1}x6, Bobble. [8 Bobbles, 7 ch1 sps] Turn.

 Left: First Bobble and ch1
Right: finished row [8 bobbles, 7 ch1 sps]

*Bobble stitch:  YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops, (YO, insert hook in same st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops) YO, and draw through all loops on hook (here is a tutorial for the stitch, but keep in mind she shows the stitch with three instead of two)

Row 3: ch 3, {3dc in ch1 sp, ch 1}x7, dc in first bobble from last row. [1 dc, 7(3dc, ch1) groups, 1dc] Turn.

Left: In the red circle is the first ch 3
Right: In the red circle is still the first ch 3, in the blue is the dc in the "first bobble"

Row 4: {ch 3, sc in ch 1 sp} across [7 sc, 7 (3 ch sps)] Turn.

 Left: {ch 3, sc}x2 for reference
Right: complete row 4

Row 5: ch 3, {3dc in next 3ch sp}x2, {3dc, ch 2, 3dc} in next 3ch sp, 3dc in next 3ch sp, {3dc, ch 2, 3dc} in next 3ch sp, {3dc in next 3ch sp}x2, dc in last dc. [10 dc, ch 2 corner, 9 dc, ch 2 corner, 10 dc] Finish off.

 Left: {10 dc, ch 2 corner, 3dc}
Right: Finished half motif

When assembling these half motifs to the others, use the space created by the dcs on the ends like a ch 1 sp.  If you have any questions, just post a comment here or feel free to PM me on Reddit!
